Wanda (yearling heifer born 4/21/2009)
Sharidon’s Gordon (yearling bull born 6/25/2009)
Wanda is a yearling Lowline heifer and is being sold bred. Wanda comes from excellent bloodlines, including Nevada, Midshipman, Quartermaster and Snotty and is just beginning her production life. Wanda is bred to Sharidon’s Firebolt for a 2011 calf. Firebolt exhibits the early maturing, easy fleshing (on grass) traits we select for in our Lowline breeding stock. He is a son of the very prolific and productive Lowline brood cow, Diana. Diana’s dam was one of the original Lowline foundation cows. Firebolt was sired by the Australian fullblood Lowline bull, Ardrossan Thundercloud. Thundercloud is a grandson of Broken Arrow Kaptain Midnight. Kaptain Midnight and his progeny have long been considered some of the best examples of the Lowline breed. We recently saw Firebolt’s grand dam, Broken Arrow Opal Nera in Australia and she is now 17 years old and had her natural calf at side. This bloodline produces early maturing, easy fleshing, moderate framed animals, and with excellent confirmation and genetics have proven productive well into their teens.
Sharidon’s Gordon is a yearling full blood Lowline bull out of one of our best foundation cows, Ms Rocking Brenton 253k. Ms Brenton was a large volume, structurally correct cow and her calves have always demonstrated this consistency of type. Gordon was sired by Sharidon’s Derek. Derek is out of another of our foundation cows, Florence. Florence is a daughter of Midshipman one of the original foundation Lowline bulls. Florence is known for producing exceptional bulls. Florence has always passed her excellent confirmation and heavy muscling on to her calves. Derek’s sire (Gordon’s grandsire) is the powerful bull Bow Lad. Gordon is not related to Firebolt or to Wanda. This means that you can use Gordon to re-breed Wanda in 2011 and potentially use on her 2011 calf if she has a heifer. Gordon promises to be an excellent Lowline herd bull.
